Oct 7th, 2009 by monavida

While it may only be September, soon enough, winter will be here, and we will be bustling around trying to prepare for its chill. We can’t neglect our closets however, and today, I’ll give you my top 10 must have winter clothes for cool babies. Follow this list, and you baby will most definitely be warm and cool at the same time.1.The peacoat: Ok, this has to be a staple in every little person’s closet. Perfect for little boys or little girls, the peacoat is the quintessential coat for winter. It goes great with any outfit, dressy or casual, and is classic, stylish, and trendy all at the same time. A peacoat will never be a bad investment for your little one’s wardrobe.2.The newsboy hat: A perfect complement to the peacoat, the newsboy hat just completes that classic look. It’s stylish, and when turned a little to the side, adds a little flavor to the outfit. If your little will keep a hat on for any extended period of time, buy him a peacoat.3.The scarf: For years, moms have nagged their children about wearing their scarves when they embark into the winter cold. But with the stylish scarves out there today made popular by today’s music and movie stars, I don’t think that it will be a problem now.4.The winter parka or snorkel jacket: Another option for a more casual outfit is the snorkel jacket. This jacket’s signature fur-lined collar frames a little one’s face so perfectly. It also keeps an infant or toddler very warm on a blustery winter’s day. Again, this jacket is great for both girls and guys, and comes in a variety of materials and styles.5.Timberland Boots: If you have a little boy, he’s going to need some warm winter boots. Why settle for function over form when you can have both? Enter the Timberland boot. It’s a stylish take on the traditional work boot.6.The hooded long sweater: This sweater is a great layered option for your little girl. It gives their outfit a simple, clean look.7.Hooded Sweatshirts: Hooded sweatshirts may not be a new phenomenon in babies fashion, but the hooded sweatshirt is getting a much needed retouch with some the great looking designs they now feature.8.The beanie hat: These aren’t your mom’s beanie hats. These new hats carry all sorts of style, with stylish art deco designs, skulls, stars, and skateboards are the new norm for these hats that were just used for newborns.9.The fedora hat: This hat just screams, “little man.” A fedora hat is all business, and that’s what this hat does for your babies outfit.10.The blazer: This is a great jacket to wear for with any of your baby boy’s outfits. The blazer adds a true sense of style to an outfit, and if it paired with a great pair of jeans and the right shirt, it can never be considered a fashion flop.

But what can you do to avoid falling into the same old ruts of onesies and beanies? There are some really cool looking clothes out there for your baby, but you just have to be ready to think outside the box.1.Try to find clothes that don’t look like baby clothes. Most baby clothes are of the same design, the onesie with the snap crotch that has the footies on it. But if you want to dress your baby in cool clothes, the number one rule is, dress them as if they were older. Jeans, t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts, caps and hats are excellent choices for you to put in your baby’s wardrobe. If you do a search on the net for cool baby clothes, you’ll find a lot of great sites for baby clothes.2.Look for edgy designs. Designs that are popular in the fashion scene today can be found your baby or toddler. Look for art deco designs, skulls, stars, vintage-looking clothing, faded shirts, of clothes with wear or fraying around the edges. Any of these little touches take your clothes from drab and mundane, to hip, fresh, and cool.3.Stay away from beanies, and use baseball caps and fedoras. Yes, there are fedoras for babies and toddlers. The interesting thing is, that they look great on your little. Every baby wears the matching beanie, that look is the total opposite of cool. Wearing a baseball cap, especially a trucker hat, or even a fedora or newsboy cap, is the epitome of cool for your baby or toddler.4.Shoes, shoes, shoes! Instead of wearing just footies or socks is the plain Jane way of dressing your baby, putting them on a pair of shoes, especially if they are canvas shoes, like Chuck Taylor’s of Ariwalk shoes, takes their footwear from being normal and run of the mill to being cutting edge, and stylish.5.Find alternative outerwear. Every baby owns a jacket, sweater, vest, or coat. But nothing screams, “cool baby,” like a hooded sweatshirt. Hooded sweatshirts with an edgy design are also a plus as well.6.Cool kids wear black. Stay away from the traditional colors of pink, blue, and yellow. These colors have been branded as baby colors, and outside of toddler clothes, they pretty much fade away in the fashion choices of children, teens, and adults. Try darker colors, especially black, to add a touch of hipness to your baby or toddler’s wardrobe.7.Never underestimate the power of the t-shirt. The t-shirt is the staple in the cool person wardrobe, whether they are a boy or a girl. So why should it not be a part of the cool infant or toddler outfit? T-shirts with cool slogans or saying, or believe it or not, rock band t-shirts are a great look for your baby. <a href="http://www.babyrockapparel.com” rel=”nofollow”>Cool Baby Clothes – Rock Baby Clothes, Cool Toddler T-Shirts, Hip Baby Clothing.
